1. About the Service

Storybook Genie is an AI-powered storytelling platform designed for parents and guardians of children aged 4 to 11. Adults use the Service to generate, view, store, and share children's stories.

The Service is intended for adult use only. Children may read or view stories but must not use the app unsupervised.

2. Eligibility and Account Creation

To use the Service, you must:

• be 18 years or older;
• create an account using a valid email and password;
• provide accurate information;
• not allow children to create or access accounts themselves.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use & User Input Rules

You may enter free text prompts and select predefined story templates.

To keep the Service safe and appropriate for families, you must NOT input:

• personal data about yourself, your children, or any other identifiable person (including full names, addresses, contact information, medical data, or other sensitive data);
• offensive, explicit, harmful, violent, hateful, or inappropriate content;
• copyrighted or proprietary content that you do not have permission to use;
• prompts intended to mislead, exploit, or break the system.

You understand and agree that you are responsible for all input you provide, and misuse may result in account suspension or termination.

4. Child Profiles

You may create simple profiles for children consisting only of:

• first name or pseudonym;
• age.

No additional personal or sensitive information about children should be entered.

The creation and handling of child profile data is covered in our Privacy Policy.

5. Story Storage, Sharing & Public Visibility

The Service allows you to:

• save stories privately to your account;
• delete stories at any time;
• choose to share stories publicly on Storybook Genie;
• download stories as PDF files (with a subscription or credits);
• share a partial preview publicly while full content requires a subscription or credits.

We reserve the right to moderate or remove publicly shared stories that violate these Terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Stories and illustrations ("Output") are generated automatically by our AI models based on your inputs and selections.

You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies or unexpected elements;
• Output is for entertainment and family storytelling purposes only;
• Parents should review generated stories before showing them to children;
• The Service is not a substitute for educational, psychological, or professional advice.

7. Intellectual Property (Worldwide)

7.1 Our Technology

All technology, software, features, templates, and AI systems used by the Service are the exclusive property of GRAICEFUL LTD.

7.2 Ownership of AI-Generated Output

When you generate a story or illustration ("Output"):

• The Output is created automatically by our system based on your prompts and choices.
• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GRAICEFUL LTD is the author and owner of the Output.

Where local law does not recognise copyright in AI-generated works

In jurisdictions where AI outputs cannot be owned:

• These Terms govern the rights and permissions relating to the Output;
• All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by us.

7.3 Licence Granted to You

Subject to payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a:

personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to:

• view, store, share, download and display the Output;
• use it for private, non-commercial purposes only.

You may not:

• sell, licence, commercialise, or redistribute Output externally;
• use Output in commercial products, published books, or monetised channels;
• use Output for training other AI models.

7.4 Your Inputs and Licence to Us

By submitting any text, prompts, data or other material ("User Input"), you grant GRAICEFUL LTD a:

worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to:

• use, process, adapt, and display User Input as needed to operate and improve the Service.

This includes permission to use your prompts for safety, moderation, and product improvement.

8. Subscriptions, Credits & Payments

We offer:

• Monthly subscriptions
• One-time purchases of credits

Credits may be used to generate stories or unlock premium features.

Billing

All payments are handled exclusively through:

• Apple App Store
• Google Play Store

You agree to comply with their billing terms and refund policies.

Credits

• Credits do not expire.
• Credits cannot be redeemed for cash (except where required by law).
• If you request a refund and some credits have been used, remaining credits may be forfeited.

Free Features

Some stories and games are free, but full story generation and premium games require:

• an active subscription or
• sufficient credits.

9. Refunds

All refund requests must be made through:

• Apple App Store or
• Google Play Store

We cannot issue refunds directly unless required by law.

10. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

• uninterrupted or error-free access;
• that Output will be accurate, appropriate, or of any particular quality;
• that your stories will always be retained.

We may modify or discontinue features at any time.

11. Prohibited Behaviour

You must not:

• attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service;
• use bots, automation tools, or scraping tools;
• circumvent subscription or credit limits;
• generate inappropriate or harmful Output;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.

Violation may result in:

• warnings,
• content removal, or
• immediate account termination.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you:

• violate these Terms;
• misuse the Service;
• input harmful or inappropriate content;
• compromise system security or safety.

You may delete your account at any time.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or appropriateness of AI-generated Output.
• We are not liable for:
  • errors or unexpected content,
  • reliance on Output,
  • downtime,
  • data loss,
  • third-party platform failures,
  • losses caused by user-input errors.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded under UK law.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively by the courts of England & Wales.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are significant, we will notify you in-app or by email.

Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
